The POLAR PW-1 pile turner is primarily used for handling half-size formats and operates at high speed, offering significant savings in both cost and power. The pile is loaded onto the platform from one side of the unit. To initiate the turning process, two pushbuttons must be pressed to close the platform. Once another key is activated, the platform rotates around its horizontal axis to the opposite side. After rotation, the same two pushbuttons are pressed (and held) to reopen the platform, allowing the turned stack to be removed. The automated reversal process effectively minimizes any damage or markings that typically occur during manual re-stacking.
